This Connor Hellebuyck trade proposal to Vegas here (by Bleacher Report) makes a lot of sense, but with some adjustments. Vegas needs to improve their goaltending and Hellebuyck would provide the Golden Knights with a star goalie to keep them in the conversation for the Stanley Cup. If Vegas goaltender Adin Hill would waive his partial no-trade clause to go to Winnipeg, it would pave the way for a deal to be done. Hill had a down year in 2025-26 (but then again, so did Hellebuyck), so he has a lot to prove if he were to go to a new situation. The Vegas 1st round pick in 2028 would be a must to be included for Winnipeg. The Jets may prefer targeting Manitoba forward Brett Howden in this trade scenario instead of Braeden Bowman. Howden doesn't have trade protection, but a trade back home would certainly be warmly received. The combined salary of Hill and Howden is $8.75 million annually (Hellebuyck's annual salary is $8.5 million). Vegas would need to throw in a prospect to Winnipeg and the combined trade of Hill, Howden, 2028 Vegas 1st round pick and a prospect may be enough to get Hellebuyck to Vegas.
