Even The Best Coach Might Not Be Able To Fix The Edmonton Oilers
Mike Babcock is one of the most successful coaches in NHL history, but even he might not be able to fix the Edmonton Oilers. New season and the same story continues, as the Oilers dropped their season opener 6-5 in OT to Vancouver (yes, the same Vancouver predicted to finish last in the NHL this season). Problems with goaltending, defensive play and player accountability continue to plague the Oilers. The coach can't magically fix how the players play as a team. It has to come from the players and their willingness to change for team success. It's a long season, but unless the habits and style of play changes, the Oilers will likely disappoint again.
