Dave Tippett Is Probably Right. Connor McDavid Likely Will Win A Stanley Cup. It Just May Not Happen With The Edmonton Oilers.
Former Edmonton Oilers head coach Dave Tippett thinks Connor McDavid will eventually win a Stanley Cup. He's probably right! it just may not happen as a member of the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers had as many losses as wins in 2025-26 and they may be just marginally better heading into the 2026-27 season. With little cap room, no 2027 1st round draft pick and not a lot of help coming via prospects in their system, it will be tough for the Oilers to be in a position to win a Stanley Cup any time soon. There's more here.
