With The Clock Ticking On Adding A Meaningful NHL Forward, Could The Edmonton Oilers Target Kirby Dach In Trade?
This article here outlines the possibility of the Edmonton Oilers targeting Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach via trade. The Oilers need to do something prior to the season to address their forward group and they will need to add one with solid NHL experience. Kirby Dach carries a modest $3.6 million AAV and when healthy (he's had a tough time staying healthy!) and playing to his potential, he's a third line NHL forward with the potential to touch on second line status. The Oilers would want to move at least some money back to Montreal in a trade like this, so a forward like Mattias Janmark and his $1.45 AAV may make sense. The Oilers would need to add to Janmark in a deal like this and an Oilers 2nd round pick wouldn't be out of the question. The Canadiens could then add to their draft capital to help in the pursuit of bigger fish.
