Steve Yzerman has stepped aside as the Detroit Red Wings general manager and will run the day-to-day hockey operations until his successor is named. Yzerman will then take on an advisory role with the Red Wings. Current Detroit assistant general manager Shawn Horcoff may be the logical choice to succeed Yzerman.
