New Jersey Devils Linked To Pursuit Of Two Star Goaltenders

The New Jersey Devils have been linked to the pursuit of goaltenders Connor Hellebuyck of the Winnipeg Jets and Jordan Binnington of the St. Louis Blues. If Hellebuyck is going to move from Winnipeg, it would likely be to a team that has a greater chance of winning the Stanley Cup in the short-term. Teams such as the Carolina Hurricanes or Buffalo Sabres. The Devils more reasonable target is Jordan Binnington. St. Louis has signalled that Joel Hofer is their goaltender they will move forward with and Binnington is available for the right price. Binnington has already won a Stanley Cup and would bring championship pedigree to a team in need of taking the next step towards Stanley Cup contention. The package to obtain Binnington would be much less than the package to obtain Hellebuyck and it would leave the Devils in a better position to keep a core intact that could challenge for a championship.
