Dylan Larkin Overplayed His Hand. He Needs To Expand His Approved Team Trade List Now!

Dylan Larkin has overplayed his hand and it would be awkward if he returns to the Detroit Red Wings for the 2026-27 season. Larkin will need to expand his list of teams that he will accept a trade to (and it might not be to a team that is ready-made to win the Stanley Cup). One team to keep an eye on is Seattle. The Kraken need to increase their star power and take a step forward in order to truly make an impact in the Seattle market. They could really use Larkin to pair with Matty Beniers down the middle. Seattle just so happens to have a young and promising centre in Shane Wright, that hasn't blossomed yet and he could be the start of a deal for Larkin. Seattle also has two first round draft picks in 2027 (their own and Tampa Bay's), in which one of those picks could be added to a deal for Larkin. Wright and a 1st round pick is a good start in getting a deal done with Detroit. Seattle has more than enough cap space to take on the reasonable $8.7 million AAV cap hit of Larkin over the next five seasons of his contract. There's more here.
