The Vancouver Canucks have received permission from the Buffalo Sabres to speak with Kevyn Adams regarding their open general manager position. Adams very likely could be the leading candidate to become the next general manager of the Vancouver Canucks. Adams was the main architect of the current Buffalo Sabres team that is a strong contender for the Stanley Cup this year and moving forward. Adams built the Sabres through strong drafting (building up the system with numerous top prospects) and some astute trades. Adams was the general manager of the Buffalo Sabres for five-and-a-half seasons. Adams was also a player with the Carolina Hurricanes when current Vancouver Canucks president of hockey operations Jim Rutherford served as general manager of the Hurricanes. The story is here.
