Some may say that Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman will be on the hot seat in Detroit if the Red Wings fail to make the playoffs this season. They may not make the playoffs in a tough Eastern Conference, but they keep showing progression and their current record would be good enough for a tie of first place in the Pacific Division over in the weaker Western Conference. Detroit has drafted and developed well and have shown progression to the point where they are close to entering the conversation of being one of the NHL's elite teams. Steve Yzerman should not be on the hot seat. Just give it time and Detroit will be a serious threat for the Stanley Cup in the near future. Here is some conversation on the subject.
